While changing filter.......with tire on may I add...lol

I snapped a clip, I put the other one on, and popped on the other line onto the filter without a clip.....and bolted the housing piece back in place...

Is it safe to drive 5 miles to parts store, or should I try something else to make it okay....

HELL NO!!!! Are you kidding? That thing runs over 40 psi of pressure at times! If you're lucky the car would die right away and save you a potentially huge fire!

You're welcome. I didn't mean to sound harsh...I just wanted to make darn good and sure it got your attention as to the dangers involved!

Edit: I just thought of something. Does your fuel filter take spring lock connectors and have a little metal clip that snaps over it as a safety? Or does it use the plastic retainer clips? If it's the plastic, then what I said is absolutely true. If it uses spring lock connectors, you would probably be fine if you're positive they are completely engaged...and I'm sure you would have to go to a dealer to find a new safety clip. But I don't know how you could break one of those either.

I just figured it could leak.....I wish there was a way to mickey mouse it for the 10 minutes.....Im in a huge jam now....gotta get my daughter in 2 hours....all my friends and fam are at work...no loot on me for cab...:(

You might try calling the parts store and see if you can get it delivered for a a fee. I know down here you can get it done.

Thanks fo rthe idea...

I actually ended up finding someone who was home and he went to cop it for me....

1/2 second fix....gay that it makes the car not driveable.......

I don't know if it makes it undriveable. The clip only holds the hose onto the bubble of the fuel filter to make sure it doesn't back off accidentally. Usually the clip slips off pretty easily and you have to pull the hose off the filter which takes a pretty decent effort. You should've been all set for the quick drive but you got if fixed which is what counts.
