After changing spark plugs on 2001 LS V8 smoke is coming out of the driver side of the exhaust pipe. It looks kind of white. When I changed the spark plugs from the drivers side I did notice two of the plugs had oil on them, although I didn't notice any oil around the coil area. I also had touble with getting the boot of the coil over one of the plugs, it didn't go over the plug like the other coil boots there was resistance and the only thing keeping it down was bolt that holds the coil down in place. Any idea what could be causing the smoke, thanks.

You probably have seeping valve cover gakets and when you removed the plugs, some oil dripped into the cylinder. It'll eventually all burn off.

Well I am glad to say that after driving around for a while it stopped smoking, I guess the oil that went into the combustion chamber burned out, hopefully it didn't affect the new plugs. You were right NYC LS8, thanks.

yup just some oil got in there, happen to me when I did my vcg and plugs. I also sprayed some brake cleaner in there as well so mine smoked a hellava lot. Ever smell burning brake cleaner, u dont want to.
