Quick question guys, I ordered an aftermarket "sliding" keyfob remote, and for one reason or another, I'm going to see if it's possible for me to program it myself.
I've got one spare key thats almost all crapped out in terms of the edges and has a crack in the casing. I was able to VERY carefully get the chip out.
I've also VERY carefully opened up the new keyfob and have taken THAT chip out.
Now, would it be possible to just go get the key part of the new keyfob cut(w/the chip out) using my master key, and then just swap out the unprogramed chip with the older programed one???
In my mind/IMO it SHOULD work
1.) b/c most key places can cut any un-chipped key, correct?
2.) the chips work by means of proximity, correct??!
:shifty:
...anyways, let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!
