Greetings everyone!

I just purchased (a month ago) a 1997 Lincoln Town Car Presidential Edition. It has only 48,000 miles on it. It has been running very well. The other day I went to start it and the battery was dead. I jumped it and it started fine. Last night I had the same problem. Jumped it and it started again fine. This morning while driving the car just died. Battery is dead. Jump started it and it again ran fine.

The battery is a new, an Interstate, and the alternator is putting out between 14 and 15 volts. Anyone have any thoughts? I am going to have the battery checked this weekend, but outside of that, since the alternator is producing the correct voltage, has anyone experienced this issue?

Blessings,

Gary

Hello; Also check the ground strap to the fender. If that is loose or loses connection your motor will die. Be forewarned that bolt can be extremely hot to the touch. Same issue I had on a 1994 Grand Marquis. Scott
