so I bought this 93 for relatively cheap, the guy says that couldnt get the back to air up for over a month, I drove it home bouncing the whole way, went inside, came back out to a perfectly working air ride system, and so it was for a week or so, then one day as I exited the freeway it decided to completely vent the rear end, leaving me where I started the night I got the car, couldnt get it to air up, got a check air ride immediately every time

so I went around and checked everything, checked the relay, checked to compressor to see if it would power on, check all of the solenoids to make sure they clicked and worked, everything seemed to be in order so I said screw it and put in this air ride setup I had purchased and pieced together a few years back, tore the car apart, drilled and tapped the factory bags , ran 1/2 in line to them but also left the factory system completely intact

after a few days of playing around with it I decided to flip the air ride switch back on to see what would happen, well when i flipped it on the front aired up to where it should go, followed by the rear, everything working properly

my question is this, what was the problem? maybe one of the height sensors was compressed too far and gave it the hard fault?

btw, when i jacked up the car to take it apart one of the back tires stayed tucked, i had to kick it down with my foot, maybe the internal bump stop is damaged and somehow sticking to the other end of the bag?

and another thing, the jack that comes with the car... mine collapsed, leaving a nice big dent on the car and a pounding heart in my chest

a few weeks back i kept gettin a check air ride message..no symptoms really. Except occasionaly not venting when i park it or something, i forget. Maybe it was my imagination.

So i turned it off. Drove it for about a month until yesterday i realized it finally got a little lower (some air must of finally leaked out) i turned it back on. Its been fine since.

Now that i said that next time im in it im gonna get another check air ride message.

Curious to know whats going on with yours as well.

See, I would love to have the air ride just for its cool factor but with the roads out here if it vented id be stuck. Its too much risk of failure so I am glad I have the coil conversion. One less thing to worry about failing and leaving me stranded.

I spent 350 bucks on some mufflers ahilwe back and a few days after i had them installed I blew the line off my spider valve and slam..there goes the nice new shiny muffs...dragged them back to the house and threw my rock driveway even though they are underneath and no one sees them, it sucked.

I have a very strong love/hate relationship with the air ride....95% of the time i definitely love it though. I like the control you can have over it and the cool factor. Plus, not sure if matters in the mark 8 but in with mark 7's with a straight axle air ride helps alot when hooking up at the track. I've had coil and air sprung mark 7's and 8's and favor the air ride. I am envious however, you can drive and not worry about it.
