Hi all, just found this forum and have been lurking for a few days. I am looking at a 2006 LS being advertised with side curtain aribags. When I look inside on the C pillar I don't see any demarcation of curtain airbags. Is there any? If not, how do you know if the vehicle has them or not?

The 3rd letter of the VIN is an "H" and it says "airbag" on the headliner where a driver's grab handle would be.

Thanks for the quick response. After checking the VIN I see a "F" and I knew I didn't see 'airbag' anywhere on the roof. This is good negotiating stuff;-)

Thanks again....

It's a common mistake, and might not be intentional fraud. All LS's have side airbags (they're in the seats), but only a few have the optional side curtain airbags.

There should be a small sign over the area of the curtain that says airbag or a symbol.

I believe they will be mandatory in 2013.

They wouldn't be on the C pillar anyway. That's in the back seat. They would either be in the B pillar, or in the headliner.

They (the "airbags" labels) are in the headliner, on both sides.

you can always pull the weather stripping down and take a look for yourself to see if they're there

...And I knew that but for some reason I typed "C":(

Thx....

Thanks but I'll go for looking for the insignia on the headliner. Pulling weatherstripping makes me uncomfortable;-)
