Sick of brake dust

Yup, they sure do. But this is just some kind of weird noise one would associate with something going wrong.

IIRC, they also satate that they should sooner or later stop. Well mine havent and Im sure Im way past the point. But again I have slotted rotors and I gather that dont help with noise either. Its no big deal cause I know they last and I know they work well!

i guess ill try the porterfields, i had the red stuff pads on my 00 ls and it dusted heavily, i also noticed the noise and or grinding of t he rotors and pads, i also had the slotted rotors. i never noticed until hard braking but man did they stop!!!

The Reds from what I have just gathered latley are the ones that are bad but they say the green stuff pads dont dust much if at all.

Thats just what I was told.

I have the EBC green on my car, figured brake dust would not be bad. Guess what, I figured wrong. I cant stand it, my car could be clean but the rims will look terrible in 2 days fromall the brake dust, esp. in the front. And I used what is called wheel wax to help the dust not stick, but again, I figured wrong.

Are you guys standing on the brakes every time you want to stop or something? All this complaining about brake dust from the Red stuff pads, Ive yet to see a speck of it from mine! :p

i don't know how you guys with Porterfields have dustless performance as my wheels always show dust after a few days of driving. i'm using R-4S pads. it could be because of the wheel type i guess but i was a little disappointed in seeing dust after they being advertised to be completely dustless.

The guys with no dust are either putting very minimal miles on their cars in the #of days they're talking about or hardly use the brakes when driving (freeway or something?) or just cruise around. I've used quite a variety of pads and I have never seen a pad that didn't leave 'some' dust. Even the weak EBC greens leave dust, and they just aren't up to hard driving so I use the reds when they're available for my applications especially since it's hot here in the Phoenix oven. I do 96+ miles a day to/from work. I get dust even when coming home sunday morning with no traffic, noticably less but still get brake dust.

I got very high amounts of dust from the EBC red, and very short pad life (< 20k). My wife did most of the driving of that car (the 04), and she is pretty easy on the brakes. I wonder if the difference is that I stayed with the stock rotors (and didn't turn them at that). Anyway, I went back to stock pads after that.
