That is what everybody says.

All the other 06 LS's ive seen are several grand more than what i paid for mine and have less features. only thing i didnt get was the black interior.

But i have yet to see a black on black 06 go for sale, and the only black on blacks ive seen were 04 or 05 with more mileage and not ultimates.

I paid $2,000 less out the door than the book value, $3,000 if you dont count the TTL.

And i got it from a cadillac dealer (sewell) so that may have influenced the good deal.

Yeap. I moved on and very happy i did. If i knew what i know now, I would have had a gen 1 LS instead of the Mark and would have stepped up to gen 2 LS.

HID headlights, wood trim and shifter knob, gps navigation system, heated and cooled front and rear seats, 17" chrome wheels...etc.

Not at all. The Mark was actually slower.
I raced my buddies 06 LS with my Mark bunch of times and I always lost. He would just keep pulling away.

I sold my Mark viii to a car club member, therefore got a chance to run my LS against my own Mark many times. Again, I would always have a whole car or two on him. Not to mention, my Mark was one of the faster ones (ran 14.7 in 1/4 mile) This should give you an idea, how much faster the LS is.

I thought that my Mark and the LS would be somewhat close with the LS winning in the end. Well my GF was driving my LS and whooped the pants off me in the Mark.

Sadly its not even close. Don't care what they all say.
 
Come on guys whats some of your 1/4 mile times in your LS's. Like to see IF you really are faster then my MK8.

His had to have ran like chit. I blow the doors off every LS that tries to step.
My new 300c is just as fast if not faster than my Mark.

Chris, I wouldn't do it. Everyone I know that has an LS regrets it. The place I take my Mark when I can't do the work myself has three of them with broken timing chains.

Book value says its worth 11K.

Price seems right to me.

And its a 2004 LSE....hard to come by.

I dont take mine to the track so i dont have a quarter mile times but theres someone on here running 13's all n/a.

300c should be much faster with that hemi.
 
fastest n/a ls on here runs in the high 13's.....thats pretty quick to me.

now mods of course the mark will be faster but i would love to see what an LS with 400rwhp could do on the track.

And that one thing is you can mod the heck out of the mk8's not so much with ls.

Yeah I know. It makes 'em feel better.
To be honest, doesn't really make a difference for me. Even if the LS was slower, I would still take it over a Mark.

See but thats not what i use it for...same as most of us on here.

I would not pour thousands into my engine to drive it on the street everyday. If i were to build up a vehicle like that it would be strictly for the track and would be a stang.

And only reason you can mod them is because of the engine. If the LS had the 4.6 we would be on an even playing field.
 
Most of you are talking about gen2 marks which are slower. My 93 is modded, but not having a sunroof or any options at all does help. The early 93s have a more aggressive factory tune than the other years. The marks are also heavier than the LS, aren't they?

I already have 2 stangs. I wanted a more classy hot rod. I don't really understand why your bashing mk8's so much. They are part of your family like a brother. You should save your hate for the rice. Plus ls/mk8 are apples and oranges to me 2 door/4 door. 4 door cars just not really high on the cool aspect.
 
I don't know how they can be that far off stock both 280HP. They should run very close times. Just wondering what a LS weight is. My mk8 was 4000 race ready with me in.
