I was able to talk the dealership into a straight trade. My only real concern is that according to the maintenance history on carfax, and the oasis report, it doesnt look like the coils have ever been done. Is there anything else I should be concerned with?

Im really not liking the double in mileage either, but as long as it doesnt need anything major i could live with it.

The trailblazer is worth about $1000 more, but as you can tell from the ebay ad i havnt been able to get what its worth.

Let me know your thoughts.

What year is the LSE? Miles? The Cops are cheap. Those 3.9L engines have more timing chain/guides,tenstioner problems then you can shake a stick at.

get it get it get it lol it looks good and yea the cops arent exensive

Id do it.

I havent seen many people post on here about tensioner issues. The most common issue is plugs and coils and with only 100K i would jump on it.

Its black on black and has nav and i dont see a CEL so i would go for it. Later on you can pick up some wood trim and swap it out. We like to new members in the LS side.

Only thing mine doesnt have is black interior which i would love.

Really way many dead LS is a V8 with timing/tensioner failure!!! And there are a TON.

Really every single dead LS is a V8 with timing/tensioner failure!!! And there are a TON.

There isnt a ton on here.....most the guys who lose the LS's on here is because of wrecks or they sell them.

If i ever had the issue i would just get a new engine. mine is still worth 15K so im not about to let it go anytime soon.

I would be careful owning a LS. It might grow on you so much, that you will just get rid of the Mark viii.

I look on ebay and craigslist everyday. You will find dead ls's on there all the time with dead engines. They go for like 1000 all the time. If you don't see it or recognize a big problem with the 3.9 not much i can add. I will not ever buy a v8 Ls because of this.

Thats cool.

And theres LS's on here with over 200K miles on the factory engine internals. You take chances with any vehicle.....even the most reliable vehicle in the world can turn out to be a lemon.

I hear what your saying but the 3.9 has WAY more failures. Go try to find a MK8 with a bad motor or a v6 ls with bad motor. Very very rare ,there are dead ones thats how I got my v6 ls. I had to look for over 2 years to find one and mine and the dude on site with 20's that had his parents pay for motor are only 2 i have read about.

A big plus if you get it I will know where to go to get an lse grill and bumper... :D

I wouldn't personally unless they give you some cash and I dont see that happening. I love my LS but I plan on letting it go once it gets close to 100k. That wont be for awhile luckly.

And this is why i got the newest i could find.

Everything is supposed to be "fixed" by 2006 but only time will tell.

Thats why you need one of each!!

I actually did have both at one time.
Once I got the LS, i realized the Mark 8s weren't the greatest thing out on the road like i thought they were.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the car. I was a die hard fan, just like some of the Mark guys are on here......but, i like the LS more.

i just found an ad on CL thats about a week old and its listed for $8800. I think i will got back tomorrow and negotiate some money.

didnt know you used to be a mark guy.

i really think a lot of them just jump onto the bandwagon without ever actually driving or seeing one in person.

Print it out and and tell them you want the difference in cash.

I hear ya. My 1993 mk8 is my hot rod lincoln toy. The LS I bought for the wife to class her up. A little hard to compare a 1993 to a 2005 though more goodies in there for sure. LOL
