Just thought I would warn anyone about UPS and their insurance coverage. In my instance I packed a 105 lb toolbox in 3/4" styrofoam and had done that on 2 previous boxes I sold on e-bay. Anyway, they dropped it, bent 6 out of the 8 corners and sprung the door. The damage claim denied because of impropper packing... The problem I have is when I dropped it off, I explained what it was, explained how it was packed, helped them weigh it, filled out the paperwork, declared the value $450 and they happily took my money. The claims people work off the facts and don't bend under any circumstances. Bottom line is beware of them especially if the item is subject to damage. I really believe after seeing all the rules and regulations, they have a way out of any claim. I did the right thing by eating the shipping and refunding the buyer his money. Probably lost about $400 after damage is fixed. USPS although slightly more does stand behind damage and will be my only means of shipping. Thanks for reading.
