So my service parking brake message came on.
The wierd thing is with this message on my wipers continue working with the key off and out of the ignition.
I know these cars have switched negative circiuts so I'm assuming some kind of short.
Anyone have this happen to them?

These cars do crazy things when there is an electrical short. I had the stripped wire under my driver's seat (pretty common problem) and my ses light came on, service park brake would randomly come on, alarm would not arm/disarm properly, etc. I've also heard some people say a battery going dead causes these problems too...
Perhaps checking your battery (wouldn't hurt and most places it's free) and disconnecting it and letting the comp reset itself and see if the problems go away.

I already tried disconnecting the battery.
The sight on it is red but it seems fine.
It's original so I'm probably going to replace it anyways.
There's probably something wrong with the parking brake.
I'll have my mechanic check it out on monday or tuesday.

Mine showed that message when the brake fluid was a little low.

If the eye on the battery is red, then the battery is not okay, it is bad. Replace it.
It is very common for battery problems to cause the "service parking brake" message.
I haven't heard of the wiper issue before. The wiper power is not switched negative, it is switched positive. (The lights are switched negative, most other things are not.)

Well it seems to have reset itself (for now)
I'll replace the battery on monday as I'm on a trip and it seems to start the car fine.
I'm heading back home tomorrow and have jumper cables so I'll be ok.
With the message on the wipers and my radar detector laser jammer would stay on even if the key was off.
Wierd

It sounds like you have an ignition switch problem.

I had unhooked my battery numerous times last weekend while putting in my Kenwood 9140 and other stereo stuff.
Everytime you unhook then rehook the battery the car demands you put your foot on the brake and apply the parking brake.
Since I never use the parking brake except for this battery rehook when I pulled the battery cable the last time and rehooked it it didn't bring up the apply brake message, but the service parking brake soon message didn't go out.
This was like that until today.
I hadn't noticed the wipers until I turned the car off in the rain and the wipers kept going.
I pulled the battery cable and no apply brake message showed, but the service message remained. I tried it a second time and still no change.
Then after sitting for a hour at the hotel after this 2 times unhooking it, I had to go out and when I started the car this time it finally asked me to apply the parking brake and after I did the service message cleared and everything seems back to normal.
I think that since I never use the parking brake it had possibly gotten stiff
and didn't reset properly the last time after pulling the cable.
I had heard a slight grinding type noise when I had tried to apply it when the service message didn't go out.
Today no noise from the brake when applying it.
I'm going to replace the battery anyways as it's 6 years old and the sight glass is red.
It starts fine now but probably won't last into the winter.
I'm also going to have the parking brake checked to make sure it isn't siezing up
