Have any of you had a problem with your service e-brake status comes on? When i try to engage it intially tries, maybe locks down, than releases and says to service. I just had rear brakes done. . .any ideas?

That is your clue, take it back to who did the service.

Hope they didn't just grab a C-Clamp and mash the calipers in when they did them.
