Can anyone tell me what brake pads were OEM on a 2001 LS V8 Sport?
Were they semi-metallic or ceramic?
When replacing the pads on a daily driver, does the ceramic provide good cold weather stopping power?

They came stock with whatever Ford had laying around in the back of the factory. Most likely semi-metallic.

Personally id go ceramic, they are better pads all around.

I'd bet 5% of the threads in this forum involve brakes.... I usually don't say this, but do a search; no one wants to rehash something that's been so fully laid out already.

Quality brake pads

FWIW, one of the things I changed after I started Land Speed racing (See Land Speed LS) was to go from regular dealer quality (they changed them and then told me) to Raybestos Ceramic/Metallic pads. They were readily available locally, and made it easily possible to stop from 140+ by the first turn-out.
