Comparing the lowest seat height setting on Gen1 versus Gen2.

Has anyone experienced a difference in the lowest driver seat height between the two? On my '97, I seem to be sitting about 1" higher than my '94. There are no issues with mechanical binding or motor adjustment operation. Rake on both backrest are at identical setting.

Is this a factory design specification difference like any between the 2 generations ?

My goal is to make the seating ergonomics identical to one another so my driving position will be the same when jumping from one car to the other.

I always find that my Gen 2 sits lower than my Gen 1
I attribute this to the difference in the foam design
Also the Gen 2 is way more comfortable

I think the Gen 2 is higher too. I think the foam is thicker. it is newer too, and I think it's a different type of foam.

The seats are even different between my green and black 94's. The black car's seats have better foam, the seats in the green car have worn out foam. Those are from a parts car though.

Update:

Well , I took the drivers seat out from my '97 to see why it sits higher than my '94. Took the seat off the seat tracks, removed the bottom seat leather and checked the seat foam.

So after about 15 minutes of disassembly, here is where I'm at. The seat foam, due to years of use, shows deep cuts made by the strips of solid seat spring wires that hold the foam to the seat frame. The deepest cut is nearly an inch deep.

So, why would a worn seat still sit higher than my '94 even with the deep cuts in the foam?
