Seat cable: what is this part?

Hello everyone, I need your help. I'm trying to take out my passenger seat and I have everything unhooked except for one cable, and I'm not sure how to disconnect it. I have a 2001 Lincoln Continental with the 3rd seat in the front and steering wheel shifter. It's a thick, insulated cable that comes out of the wire bundle, attaches to a chunk of metal, then continues into the seat. Any idea what this is and how to disconnect it?
