So the driver's seat belt won't latch. I push it in and it just hits. It's not into i push the red button hard and push the seatbelt down that it latches. Why is this happening? It never occur before. BTW it's a 2004 lincoln ls

It's not the weight. Trust me.The stupid thing seems to hit something when I push it down

Use a flash light and look into the slot and work the release button and see what is happening. This is not a common failure.

Still think it is a New Year Resolution issue. ;)

It's probably covered under warranty from Ford as a safety item.... I think those items are warranted for 8 years?

well i bought it from a different car dealer used so idk if dey will still cover it. Would the warranty that i bought from the car dealership cover it??

same thing happens to mine, be sure u press the red button all the way in when u take ur belt off, i barely push it sometimes and it only lets off enuff to release the belt then closes again.... i never did find out how to fix it or if it was even a problem really i jus left it alone.. its not that bad im sure...

Sounds like a simple mechanical failure in the mechanism. I would guess the female side will need to be replaced.

That l/s buckle assy comes in grey....stone....or black and list for 95. ...60. ..and 90. repectively. They will most likely all change to the grey at some time in the future.
