how do you seafoam a mark viii just bought another 96 had to sell the 1st one do to moms medical issues and it was running fine and now hard to start i think its the dreaded stuck imrc thing thanks alot

stuck IMRC's wont cause a hard or no start issue.

seafoam thru the vacuum line that leads TO your brake booster.
pull the line FROM the booster, leaving it connected TO the intake.
suck the seafoam out of the can.

Hard start is gonna be normal maitenance items.
Fuel Filter
Plugs, wires..
Fuel pump.

What is the mileage on this car?
if it's between 100-150K it's "fuel pump time".

the car has 147000 on it it is making a whoo sound when you mash on the gas pedal and it is a medium green with ivory interior never saw one with this color combo and i want to get 4.10 gears and traclock what axle spline thanks

Man... Getting that line off the booster is an absolute PITA! Took me about 30-40 minutes of fooling with it to finally get that darn hose off... I seafoamed it again and just pulled the hose off the other end that goes to the intake, heck it's still coming from the same direct source... atleast on my '93.

I guess this thread confirms my suspicion about the fuel pump... When I tromp on it I get a lean pop/crack and it chokes... Guess that's next on the list after brakes and a new steering rack...

thanks going to try tune up, fuel filter, and seafoam and could someone tell me when looking to purchase a traclock do i need one with a 31 axle spline and can i get one from a junk yard thanks

the mark 8 uses the 28 spline diff/axles.
IMHO the 31 is overkill.

ok thanks can one out of a gt mustang work and what about my speedo do i need to get it recalibrated

if it's a 28 spline then yes..it'll work
99 cobras used the correct 28 spline.. as for "other mustangs" I dont know.

Without knowing more about your car "year model ect" I cannot comment on your speedometer question.

everything you've asked so far has already been covered at length in many other threads here on LVC.

Seems like you need to do so research, as with every "answer" you chunk out another "question".

spend some time and research past threads..

born on date 11-95 has sunroof no traction control and did not come with the jbl sound system(no door tweeters) thanks for responding and i will do so research on past threads.......

Sounds to me like you need to put some money into getting the maintenance up to snuff before you do anything else...

your 96 will likely need a speedometer gear to correct for any major gear changes you make...

and with any gear change you'll want to adjust the tune in order to fully optimize the new gear ratios.

I ran 373's gear with a 307 tune for almost 2 years, the car ran fine.
The shift and lock up schedule were compressed, meaning it shifted way to soon and got into 4th way to soon..

I didn't really realize how much the tune was off until I got it corrected...all I can say is WOW.

there will be those that say "I did blah blah blah".. or "blah blah blah" and the car was "fine"..
My question is.. do you want "fine" or "WOW"?

I had a double dose of WOW this morning on my way to work..*haha*
