So I "overheated" about 2 weeks ago, air pocket in the head, pegged the guage instantly and went into 4cyl limp mode. I, for some reason, uploaded the stock tune after this. The problem at hand now is that my LS doesn't seem to be receiving the tune files from torrie that are on my Xcal2. Is there some sort of limitation as far as how many times you can go back and forth? Thanks

as long as the file didn't get corrupted when uploaded between the ECU and the SCT unit and vice versa...you can change them back and forth as many times as you want

Disconnected the battery and let it sit for awhile, tried uploading the 2 different tunes multiple times with no sucsess.. Idk whats going on.. :(

Could it be a problem with the XCal unit itself? I have an XCal3, and haven't tried loading a tune on my LS yet (was going to try one of the canned tunes before going to Torrie). I'm a little apprehensive about doing it, and need to do some searching on here before giving it a shot.

Tru...you still haven't uploaded the canned tune that is on the XCal ?...I told you it's a pretty decent tune right out of the box.... I was running that tune for almost a year before I went with a custom one...go for it dude

Toe, I decided to go ahead get some custom tunes from Torrie. Granted, I could tried the canned tunes, but quite a few people have said that Torrie's were even better. It was a knee-jerk decision, but I went ahead and did it.

The scanner has set for months, because I've been way too busy with other stuff. Actually, several LS projects have been collecting dust waiting for me to get to them. I still have to take apart the brakes to paint the calipers and put the new rotors/pads on (REALLY need to get that done before the calendar deadline).

What pushed me to at least get this done was my pathetic attempt at trying to break the wheels loose when I was leaving the Mich/Ohio meet we just had. Granted, I made a couple of stupid mistakes too but I figured that NEXT time, I'll be better prepared with a tune and some practice with SST (without traction control enabled, sheesh).

I had received my files from Torrie via email, and saved them on my computer, if you did the same, re-load them on your XCal then try re-loading you Lincoln.

^ lol we won't judge you I did the same thing, forgot to turn trac control off the first one I did at the meet.

Linc, I feel your pain dude. I had some initial issues just getting the custom tunes to the scanner device. Turned out that I needed to format the scanner. You may want to try this - AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ALL YOUR FILES BACKED UP - including the most recent firmware, tune revision, and all tune files (including stock).

If you have an X3, this is the process to format it:

1. Start up the SCT software on your computer
2. Connect the X3 to the computer via USB cable
3. Stay on the main menu of the SCT software, and press/hold CTRL - ALT - F on your keyboard
4. A message will appear asking if you want to format the MMC device/card, click Yes
5. A second message will appear asking if you want to format the device, click Yes or Ok
6. Wait for the process to finish
7. Disconnect the device from the computer
8. Reconnect the device to the computer
9. Load the latest tune revision file you have using the "Transfer File to Device" option in the Basic Operations menu. This will take a LONG time to load.
10. Your custom tune files will no longer be on the device. Reload them using the "Load Custom Tune File" option from the Basic Operations menu.
11. Try loading either a canned or custom tune file, or even reverting back to Stock.

If you have an X2 device, the process MAY be different, but you should be able to try it. I don't think the CTRL - ALT- F will do anything if the device is not programmed to respond to it.

Other option is to email support@sctflash.com with your issue and what you've done so far, and see what they come back with.

Good luck!

since your back on the stock file...the problem lies with either the software ( your tune from Torrie) or the hardware ( your XCal 2)...I'm betting its not the hardware....have Torrie send you another tune , tell him your situation and he probably won't charge you for the backup tune...install it on your handheld and well, you know what to do from there

are you getting any error messages...1017 or 1037 file corrupt...but those usually apply only to modified -> stock file transfers where the stock file has errors in it

No errors or anything and Id reload my Xcal with the tune except my hard drive died and now I have nothing.. :(
