Just got done putting this in the car. Pretty neat little toy. The cable that goes from the unit to the OBDII plug isn't long enough, so I took an RJ45 coupler and a 3' foot CAT6 cable from work, and voila...mounted on the mirror. Beats paying 45 bucks for the mirror mount I saw on eBay. :)

Info shown is RPM, MPH, Intake air temp and ignition timing. Has other stuff that you can look at, and also what they call "X Gauge", where you can get O2 readings, horsepower, fuel trim, trans temp, cylinder head temp, etc. I've yet to program the data strings for that stuff yet.

Grabbed it off eBay for $159. More info for anyone interested here: www.scangauge.com

WOW, that was a great price. I have been looking at his for awhile now. Maybe in the next couple months i will have one also.

Yeah, wasn't too bad which is why I bought it. :)

I've already seen transmission temps in the mid-180s, and the intake air temp while sitting still near the same temperature...and this is with outside temps at about 88 or so. Time for an aftermarket trans cooler and to relocate the air filter.

FYI:
Your Sport V8 with Select Shift has a factory thermostat controlled transmission cooler.

I have been hoping someone with a CAI would get one of these.

I cut my stock airbox (like in the tech article) and haven't seen air intake temps much over 100 degrees, and thats only when idling. And when cruising they stay right at outside air temperature.

and x2 on the trans. mine runs over 170 all the time (with the stock cooler) :(

And congrats on the purchase, i'm sure you'll love it.

Yeah, it's cool :) but not all that accurate with the horsepower and torque (into converter) numbers. I accelerated hard yesterday, and the horsepower number that popped up was 472 :lol:

I like it for the instant MPG, intake temp and MPH reading, since those reverse glow gauges get in the way of my needles moving

Maybe I'll put in those other white face gauges I got since I'm off today. :D

I don't suppose this will read any check engine codes, will it???

Edit - never mind, I went to the site and it does! I might have to get one of these things too...
