Centri doesn't require hood cutting on gen1 and gen 2 you can trim hood can't you.
 
Hood clearance is the last thing id worry about if you're serious about puting a blower on..worry about the stuff that really matters to make it work with your application first.
 
I'm not sure how an S-trim Vortech compares in size to the Paxton, but no hood cutting was required here. The stock Mark8 radiator was a fitment issue in my case. I have a Mach1 radiator which is a slimmer profile and it still butts up tight. Proper MAF setup and fuel delivery is the main concern after that. Without a doubt you will need a 255lph fuel pump and probably 42# injectors or more depending upon boost levels. Plan to incorporate some gauges. You'll need to keep an eye on things much more so than an NA setup if you don't plan on blowing things up.
 
you can get a centri and a PD to fit under the hood of both generations of cars. its harder on a first gen, but jeremi has done it.
