ok so i know some of yo9u have read about my cracked wheel prob before ...so ive decided to up the tire size to 45s in the front and 40s in the rear, im lowered on eibachs and was wondering if you guys think i will rub with a 275 in the rear. or could i go 265 with 45s all the way around,.. what do you guys think

I think that the 265/45 will be to tall, try the 275/40 might be a better fit. The front sound fine to me.

Maybe slow down a bit. I hear you saying you drive like a buck-twenty sometimes. You hit a harsh bump in the road that fast and your wheels are under a lot of stress as it is, that's asking for trouble.

ya your right pete, but knocking over an hour off trips and :q:q:q:q like that is pretty awesome.. i have 45s on cams old 18s and they ride like a dream.
so 245/45 up front and 275/40 in rear??? or 40s all around?? .. i think most of the problem was the stiff as heck run flats.......thoughts?

Sh*t, you could've came to the MN meet. I bet you would've got there quicker than me :D

ive thought about it ... wouldnt mind meeting you in person... having you detail my car on the cheap lol... im gonna be giving justin from obsessive detail a call soon.. he is a member on here from my area,, full correction. sweet.. i think its 10 hours to get where your at from here yikes lol i think i could make it in 7h 45 min

A simple solution for your wheel problems: send them to me. I'll send you my stock 17's and you should be good to go. :D

I've made it to Minneapolis in about 8 hours, but never tried the trip in my LS. Wisconsin police suck so I probably wouldn't drive like LsUnV2.

I think Ryan had 275/40/18s on those wheels for some time and he said that they fit ok. I don't see why there should be a problem with standart tire size. I think that 2754018 is too big for the LS. Go 285/35/18 rear, avoid big bumps and look COOL. lol.

I never put the 275/40's on, they were too tall. I sold them right away.

well not helpful guys lol... i have to move up in size.. it is a must .. i was dragging the ground and everything and the cracked wheels 750 bucks worth.. so what is the best sixe in the rear i have to have a 40 but want to go as wide as possible with zero rub

Remember that the 40 is just a ratio of the width, not a physical measurement. It means 40% of the tire width. So that 40 would give you a different sidewall measurement for each different width. a 275/40 tire has a shorter sidewall than a 285/40 tire.
