If you didn't know I was having a problem with the Supercharged Gold 93 Mark VIII. It started a couple month ago. Intermittent and minor. But it would spit and sputter and the air fuel gauge would go lean. I got a lot of suggestions and we changed a lot of things and it just kept getting worse. when it first started it only did it will at idle or light throttle and intermittently. It still ran fine at wide open throttle. But the more we worked on it to try and get it ready for Carolina Thunder the Sunday after Thanksgiving the worse it got. To were it spit and sputtered even at WOT. and I just parked it at Carolina Thunder. Its been at Barrys garage since. Last week he told me he thought it was the fuel pump and order a 315 lph pump for it. Well I disagreed because we ran it with a fuel pressure gauge on it and it was always between 30 and 40 pounds. And I thought a 315 was overkill but he knows a lot more about cars than me so I just went along. He called me Sat. and said it was ready. WOW does it scream. Guess he knew what he was talking about. Air fuel gauge is always good. :D Although It still seems to have a little trouble idling and stalls on occasions.

Thats great enjoy it but keep looking for (imo) the real problem being you said it still stalls.

Yeah I have a Walbro 340 and 42.5lb injectors in the GN and it just barely makes the plugs look chocolate, boost needs fuel man.

I hope the drag strip will be open after Christmas. I think it is easily capable of a new low ET.

That's awesome Don. Your car is a beast for a stock motor Mark8. I am hoping to accomplish slightly less comparable results with my stock motor blown 97 on meth. If I can run a high 11 before I'm pushing the limits of the internals, I'll be doing pretty good. I'll be happy with low 12s though even. I should be at a fairly safe level for power at that ET. The trap speed is there on the car, but as you know, the Vortech needs rpms and a good set of lungs. Once I get headers and a stall on this car it should be a world of difference. I got just a little taste of what it could do on the highway at higher rpm cruising speed when I spanked the pants off of a brand new SS Camaro on the way back from Kansas. It was no contest and I thought to myself, "Man, I'm just getting started" :D

Sure is fun isn't it. Not sure what it will run I just think it is faster than it was ??

Yes, thats how I first knew I had a problem.

Nice! Honestly, I have heard over on the Stang forums of guys pegging out the 255lph on less rwhp than you have now Don. With that said, going with a larger pump may have been a good choice. It could be possible your fuel pressure was dropping off under heavier boost. I certainly wouldn't doubt it at all, especially if you are pushing 550rwhp or more. Your et definitely shows 500+. I hope it behaves well at the track and I hope you run a new best! :D
