i goto advanced auto, the code is read in full description and theyre very helpful
I need some help fellas, The motor was replaced in my 2000 LS V8. I replaced the plugs in the motor before it was installed in the car (Bosch Platinum). After finally getting the car back I'm having misfires on cylinders 1 and 3. I ordered the ebay coils and installed them just on #1 and #3 to see if it would knock out the misfire issue, no luck, so I pulled plugs 1 and 3 and they were fouled, very rich. I replaced the plugs with Autolite platinums and tried the old coils, same misfire #1 and#3. I rechecked the plugs and replaced the old coils with the new ones and still the same thing. (Yes I checked the gap .039/.042) Would a fuel injector issue cause this? PLEASE HELP!!! Any ideas?![]()

Hi,
I am the tech manager at Autolite. Please go to the Autolite website and watch the autolite challenge video on misfire diagnosis. It will give you step by step instructions on how to logically troubleshoot your misfire issues without throwing expensive parts at your car. Good luck and let me know if I can help.

we buy our sh!t from max around here buddy, KICK ROCKS!
What are the exact five character codes? (There are codes for misfire, and there are code for problems with the primary circuit, it would be good to know which you are getting.)
so you swapped and the trouble followed the swap? then the part you swapped (injector) is bad. The misfire that remains on #3 could be a COP issue.
Does the car run fine when cold then start to misfire when it warms up? If so I know someone have the same problem with his gen1 v8 and want to know if this is normal for the v8 when a coil is going out. I haven't been able to runs codes or see the car in person since the problem started so I'm blind and trying to help him.
Sorry for the quasi tread jacking.
Joe, the codes I'm getting are 0303 and 0304. Cylinders #3, #4 misfire? The gorilla(mechanic) broke all the injector plugs, but I think they're on pretty good.
I'm sticking with the thought that it is the connectors to the injectors. Just pushing them in won't do, if the latch is broken. You should be able to use ty-wraps to hold them in.
