Rubber isolators

I was reading where a guy took out his rubber isolators to get a lower drop ( make his car lower to the ground). Does anyone know what this means?

Spring isolators. They isolate noise from the coil to coil mount. I did it to my old Formula and unless you like the sound of metal to metal contact, and even creaking, don't bother.
