Hey guys, hope you all stay warm in this winter. Talking about temperature, it's below freezing point in Atlanta now! Yesterday night after I started the engine, I heard some noise coming out from the steering wheel. It's like rubber friction but doesn't affect driving. Anyone know what might the problem is?

I have some guesses. Maybe the bearing (if any) on the steering shaft is lack of lubricant. Or the rubber became solid due to the cold weather (but it doesn't disappear when I turned on heating). Anyway, can't pin point the problem. So please help me with your experience on it.

Thank you a lot!

Update:
Hmm, I sprayed a little bit WD40 on the steering shaft bearing, from both inside the car and the engine bay. Also a little bit on the rubber ring in the upper control arm and the tie rod end near the wheel.

However, the squeaky sound is still there.
The steering wheel fluid is full and the color is not strange.
