so i received my vlcm from fed ex drop it in and nothing... so i grabbed my voltmeter and a jump wire and went to work.. if i jump straight from the batt fan comes on.. so i test the plug that goes into the fan and lo and behold 13.67 volts wtf. so i cleaned both ends of the conector plug it back in and nothing. now i am at a loss

i am testing the matching prongs that i am getting voltage from on the leads.

i hope i am missing something stupid....

When you tested the voltage at the plug did you get the ground from the plug as well or the chasis?

is the vcrm load sensitive ? if the fan is going bad and it takes a ton of amps to spin it will just shut it off?

I couldnt say for sure but I would imagine it is. Any kind of electronic speed controller for HD usage usually has an overload protection.

Dont suppose you have a spare fan handy?

:Bang no and i just bought 2 vcrms at a tune of over $100 so I would have a spare. looks like i have 2 spares now fock me. that is what i get for trying to be spoon fed, instead of just taking my lazy ass out side and testing it. the test wire hot hot quick so i bet that is what it is.

Dont beat yourself up. Most here including myself would have reached the same conclusion. If the fan was unpluged from the system, hotwired and worked then the logical conclusion would be a bad controler.
