Rotor and Pad replacement instructions/Guide

Hi All,
Does anyone have the idiots guide to replacing the Rotor and Pad on an 00 LS? I looked around in the forum but am not finding one.
I am just doing an OEM replacement and saving some $$ on the labor instead or spending it at the dealer.
Any help appreciated.

I started mine yesterday, almost took my thumb off so I'll be waiting a day or two.

It's really pretty straight forward so i doubt there's a step by step, if nobody chimes in I'll re-cant all the steps when I'm done.

Have you replaced the pads and rotors on any car before?
If not, I suggest that you get someone with some experience to help you. It's not hard to do, but it can end in disaster if you do it wrong. The LS is not different from most cars when it comes to brakes. Do keep in mind that you need a special tool to rotate in the rear calipers. There are several posts on it here.

About the only noteworthy thing I can think of is to use the old pad to push both pistons back in the front caliper. If you push them back one at a time sometimes the other piston will pop out some. You also have to take the brake bracket off to change the rotor. Other then that, just like any other brake job. Ohh, and the OE brake rotor retainer clips SUCKKKKK!

I just ordered a set of sloted/drilled rotors and pads from r1concepts, so I will doing mine soon as well! sure its the same as any other car when changing the brakes.

When I changed mines, it was a perfect opportunity to clean your break lines. I would remove both pistons from the calipers and clean those real good with a rag and brake cleaner. Be careful not to tear the rubber boot. Flush all that black brake fluid until it comes clear. Luckily, brake fluid is reasonable priced. Of course, when you reassemble everything, you would need to bleed the system. Your braking will feel like a brand new car.
