coils are all good and new plugs.
slight vcg lean, on lower outer edge, no oil in cylinders or coils.
new MAF sensor, no vacuum leaks I can find anywhere

I have a CAI with stock tube

okay so heres the deal, my car is acting like a total wack job right now. I can mash the gas and it will just surge and die surge and die and so on, it will not run smooth at all, the idle is fine though. It will run rough even just revving it in neutral or park. I am about 100% sure not a tranny issue I can hear the engine running bad.

I don't know that my battery is not the problem. I had it tested and it showed low charge ( not dead or anything) but the cca is fine, the battery is only a year old and i am warranty returning it monday.

Lemme know what you think

What is your electrical system voltage while the engine is running?

You do realize there is a 3K RPM limiter in park or neutral and on gen I it makes the engine run very rough when at that limit?

When was the fuel filter last changed? Have you checked fuel pressure?

Joe,

yes i know of the limiter, it won't even get that high.

fuel filter was changed in August or early September of this year.

Fuel pressure I do not know. Um voltage will get to about 13 at idle but doesnt change much while driving, that is with lights on... I really think this may be my problem but it never gets below 13 while driving also wierd is that it is not all the time but once it starts doing it will until it sits for a while again.

I start with a fuel filter when I have drivability issues. Do you have a way to check the fuel pressure?

Gus,

I do not but I am sure I can get a fuel pressure gauge cheaply or "rent" one for free from autozone. If it quits raining at all today that's the plan.

They have never been cleaned per say, I have put injector cleaner in but I really don't know how well that works. I don't know of any place around that specialize in injector cleaning although I'm sure most shops can do it. But how much will something like that cost.

A few hours of work, some throttle body cleaner, and some cutips. Iirc, the v8 upper manifold isn't too terribly difficult to remove compared to the v6

Make sure you pick one [shop] that is willing and able to pay for any damage that they might do. The stronger cleaners can do some engine damage if the guy doing it doesn't know what he's doing.

When I did my coils, intake gaskets, and vcg's. 3 of my injectors had somewhat clogged nozzles. I pulled both fuel rails and cleaned each injector nozzle with throttle body cleaner and cuetips. Wouldn't that be more effective than the shop chemicals? Do the chemicals even clean the gunk out of the nozzles?

I have to pull to the intake manifold to get the injectors out though? I really don't want to get into all that.

vacuum leak

really sounds like a vacuum leak to me, check those hoses and clamps carefully

I suggested this in his last thread...

and I am still suggesting it.

get some throttle body cleaner and spray around all of your vacumm lines/fittings... See if the engine starts to die... would indicate a leak.
