Reset Check Engine Light

how do you reset your check engine light? will fixing the problem automatically reset it or does the dealership have to do it?

Well, you should fix it first. Then disconnect the battery, pump the brake pedal 10 times (just to get all the energy out of the car, capacitors and such) reconnect that battery and you should be good.

Im not sure if its the same for all cases, but my LS detected that the problem was fixed and it reset itself within about 10 mins of driving.

Mine did the same thing. I bought a $75.00 tester from Napa. Check Engine light came back. Ignition Coil went bad. First code was bad 02 reading. the tester clears the codes.

Just figured I would let u know.
