I replaced the strips on my green Mark with the better ones from my parted out red Mark. The rest of the doorpad was better from the green Mark.
To do this, I first removed the door pads. 2 of the nuts that hold the strip on, are behind a glued in foam piece. I didn't want to heat up or try prying the foam off of the old plastic, so I just used a hole saw with the drill bit removed to get at the nuts.
I wasn't sure where the nuts were at first, so I experimented on the old red doorpad first.
The nuts are those cheap stamped nuts, and they are installed upside down (I guess to save on the length of the plastic studs). I used needle nose vice grips to remove them.
When I was done, I just glued the plugs from the hole saw back in, with some old red RTV that I had.
