Replacing my Engine

I bought a 2001 Lincoln LS with a messed up tranny and 106K miles for a really good deal and want to a complete swap with a low mileage engine. The question that I have is, does it really matter which tranny I put in, the 1w... or the 2w... since I'm doing a complete swap?

all pre-03 autos use the 5R55N - iirc - the 2w is for the 5R55S - right?

Yea the 2w is for the 02, but I have an 01, just wondering if everything will connect right.

It should. the scrapyard should be able to check interchange for you
