I am trying to replace the degass bottle in my 02. How the h@ll do you get to the clamp on the firewall ? I have tried using a long pair of needle nose but I cant get to it. Any tricks, tips ? Thanks.

Or you can find cheaper ones at any auto parts retailer. I think I paid $12 for mine at advanced auto

Loosened and pulled the clasp further down the tube by means of needle nose pliers, used a long blunt screw driver to coach it off the line, may have to grab tube at the line fitting with a pair of pliers and wiggle it forwards then backwards to crack the seating loose.

When installing the new OEM bottle, it will have a new tube already, ensure the glue, which holds the clasp on tube, is not covering the locking mechanism too much, add a little Vaseline on the end of the line so as to help slide the tube up along easier. Screwdriver to unsnap the clasp in place.

GL w/ repairs
