How hard is it to replace the head unit on an LS with an aftermarket stereo? I would like to play MP3 and IPod devices through the sound system.

Thanks!

Generally, not difficult.
Which headunit do you have? What year LS?

No LS yet... I am looking at either an LS or a Cadillac CTS. I have a Town Car that is a total PITA to replace the head unit because the way Ford put the JBL system in the trunk. Ugh So I was wondering how hard it was on the LS.

Thanks!

well as long as the LS is not equipped with THX/Nav, it is pretty easy. remove radio, wire up new harness, mount radio and kit and then bolt it all back together.

there are actually a few threads with great directions and pictures around here...

I would also get a radio that supporst steering wheel controls and get the adapter and install it at the same time!

if the LS you get has the factory subs, then make sure the radio you get has sub controls.
