I've read a few posts that say to un-clip the bottom of the bags from the support.

How exactly does one go about doing that? The car was slammed when it was dropped off, so I doubt there's any air in the bag, but those slips on the bottom did not seem to want to pop off very easily.

Their not really "clips" per say. More like tabs. I usually have to use 2 hands to get them free. Pick 2 next to each other and push in and up on them then work the other 2 out.

Dont forget the metal tab on top so you can twist it.

I was looking for that also.

There is a small clip outboard, then there looked to be another back towards the differential. Do they both get un-snapped?

Towards the differential? My only guess is that one is the solenoid clip. If the line is off, that can stay.

Here is the small upper clip. Once you have the bottom mounts undone you just press this tab downward and twist to remove.

Update:

Pulled both sides today. The reason I was having a problem with the first one I tried (pass side) was that it still had air in it. Given that the car was slammed all around, I figured that all the air had come out. When I couldn't pop it off today, I did a search for releasing the air and pulled the solenoid. Once the air came out, unclipping it was a piece of cake.

Took off the bolt for the rear stabilizer bar and the bags slid right out. Thanks for the help. :)

Are they for me? :D :D :D :D

Looks like the drivers side is shot, bud. IIRC, you needed one good bag, and that appears to be what I have atm.

I'm looking at taking the bags and shocks off the 97 and putting them on the 98.

BTW, the shocks look to be pretty weased out. I can compress them pretty easy by hand, and they appear to be OEM.

Are you going to redo the Air suspension on both marks?
If you are I will just buy a new one when I get back from VACA..

Interested in doing a 4.6 Motor and Trans rebuild when the time comes?
Hooked up with a old dragster round the corner and he built the motors and trans for them... he stated he would build and modify trans and motor for me for little to nothing.

Interested in a trip back to Bristol? Pool and Hot tub will be open! :D

Well, after thinking about it, I started to wonder why I was putting a new coil over on the 'older' car (the project Mark).

The suspension on the LSC works fine, if a little soft atm, so I've decided to replace the LSC with new and shift the old parts over to the project car.

I have one "good" rear bag off the project car. They fit either side, and your welcome to if you want it. :) As I said, all the stuff looks pretty old, however it was still holding air when I took it off, so it's probably better then one that is leaking. ;)

You were also interested in the shocks, and you can have those also. However, they 'seem' pretty shot, I can push the one in by hand with almost no effort (the other is slightly stiffer). I don't think you would be happy with them, but if you want they are here.

I'm raising cash for replacing the rear bags and shocks on the LSC atm (and things always seem to come first, unfortunately). Once that's done, I'm moving up to the front end.

Now, the other thing is that the engine in the project car 'appears' to run well, but I'm not 100% sure about the transmission. If it is shot, I will be able to make you a deal on a casing at least. ;)

As for the engine rebuild, I'm free every weekend. :)

Cool, I will let you know about when.. I hope to get started on the "New Project" soon... dont take the trans out unless you need too.. I am going to look at the local boneyards for one and just mod it and rebuild it when I can.. I figure I'll do the trans first let it sit then do the motor and when its finally done, I'll mate them and go for gold and take a week end and put it in...
Looking forward to rebuilding a block as I havent done a motor in years..
I will definatly need to get a new tourque wrench... as my old craftsman has given up the ghost. I wonder if there is a shop around that can re calibrate it...

Kevin, Catch up with you later.. Could I ask you to send me the one good bag as my drivers rear is totally shot I have to get out of the car and manually lift it now for it to inflate at this point... once it gets past the crack in the rubber it stays up fine just when it sits overnight does it drop.. I'll pay for shipping..
