Remove the Climate Control Faceplate

How do I remove the actual plastic piece from the climate control panel? I want to take the buttons out and just get the plastic piece off.

Remove the ashtray trim and then the ashtray and I think it pulls down. This damn thing fell out on me once but I forget the details any more.

I got the entire panel out but I can't get it back in. But I want to get the actual face off of the panel.
