hey does anyone kno if u can make remote start work with the factory remote and still have the remote functional for the alarm and doors/trunk???
if so does anyone know wat company will work or if anyone has this done let me kno
thanxxxx

Yes it can be done... I did it for about two weeks I bought a kit by DEI. I ran it through the box on the drivers door and needed to add 2 solenoids. The person that installed it for me did this for a living and we could not work out all the bugs. It would not work all the time and if it did it would not resond very fast there was some kind of delay with all the electronics in the car. I ended up with a kit by DEI that was a remote start except for the alarm so now I have two remotes I thought I would hate it at first but got used to it.

I have a Ford remote start. The remote replaces the factory remote (the factory remote still work... they won't start the car though!). I can do everything with the new remote that I could with the old one, including opening the windows by remote. The range is at least 10x better.

Remote Start Using Factory Key Fob

I have an after market install on my 2003 V-8 Sport. It's a "Cool Start". Made by Crimestopper Security Products.

I have the "RS900VI" but this is an older model. Comes with a special key fob but it is also setup on the factory fob. I find it a VERY convenient setup!! Don't know how much it cost because I got the car used.

More curious about this...

anybody have more information? I have an 02 and hoping that I can go a factory route... then hope to eventually modify so that I can also roll up the windows as well :D

look at sumittracing .com the is a unit from VPM that alows you to piggy back your factory remote. you have the option after hooked up to hit the factory lock button on the remote three or five times to start the vehicle i have it on mine. you will need a nother key though

I got a viper remote start and i still got the factory romote because i can only use that one to get lower the windows. I can do the same with the viper one i just gotta buy sum adapter to it...

i have the viper 791 xv and i can start my car from up the block from my house lol and i have the factory remote just to lower the windows but other than that the remote from viper can open the trunk and probaly lower the windows to

Did it come with the car? If not, how much did it cost?

I have the viper 5900 witch is about the same and the installer hooked it up to roll the windows up and down didnt charge me anything either so must be easy or he was in a good mood that day. you should ask the shop that did yours and see if they could hook you up its nice only having one remote

the shop that did mine was a bunch of shoe makers they took no lie about 8 hrs just to install my damn alarm,no wonder they charged $150 u get what u pay the funny thing is i tol my buddy since i was on a route working to drop my car off at the alarm place,he did alright the wrong one across the street lol oh well
