Hello everyone,

Recently purchased a 00LS8 with 120Kmiles. (I am new to the site) It was under a tree at a guy's mother-in-laws house. It didn't run because of bad alternator and all the guy said was that it had a bad tie rod.

Being an engineer who was too cheap to buy a new car, I bought this car for $1600 and had it towed home.

I first replaced the alternator, belt and battery. I replaced both control arms, struts, tie rods, sway bar links, hub assemblies, rotors, brake pads and lines up front. On the rear, I replaced the struts, rotors, both half shafts, rebuilt the rear ring and pinion, wheel bearings, brake pads and lines.

I bought new tires and detailed the inside and outside. I replaced the all the filters (gas, air, and cabin) and had the windshield replaced too. This car looks and runs like new.

I just bought a set of the factory 17inch rims and going to get snow tires on them. I live in the Chicago area and the car struggled to get up a few hills.

I love the car and your website helped me alot. I bought all my parts from Rock Auto.com.

Thanks again for all your help.

Congrats on the car and kudos for replacing everything.... go big or go home! pics would be awesome

David,

Do you have any codes on the car? If you do get those scanned and report back with the codes.

It is most likely a coil pack or two going bad. there are plenty of threads with good information on coils in the sticky "Please Read Before Posting New Threads"

And welcome to LVC!
