i have a 1995 lsc the only previouse owner did not do regular maintenance on the car, no tune ups no new plugs or wires no fluid flushes nothing, just oil changes. what would be a good place to start? i would like to get it tuned up or something but i dont know anything about cars. thanks for your help.

Only 12 years? Mine was 14 years old same situation, but it had sat for 2 years straight which sucked
What you can do is the easiest stuff first. Things you can do on your own. A great investment you can do (besides spending HOURS on here, like I first did) is pick up a chiltons manual, this will walk you through pretty much everything. Its model 26500 and I picked mine up on eBay for like 25 bucks.
Change the pcv valve, you can't do anything easier than that!
Sparkplugs/wires (autozone sells a really nice 13" extension to get the plugs out, size 5/8 if I recall correctly)
^ get the ford racing wires from max (username mrzee on here)
Flushing the coolant isn't hard (I've had to do it a lot this last week with my problems overheating and what not) JUST MAKE SURE YOU BURP IT! I didn't and almost cooked my engine.
Lots of people seem satisfied with changing the tranny fluid and putting mercon v in, but I haven't so I cant speak on that.
How many miles does it have? People say over 75,000 look into a new fuel pump/filter
I'm definitely not the one to ask about this stuff, but I've read a lot. I'm sure others will chime in.
Get to know max (our ford parts guru) for all ford oem parts. I've only had the chance to buy from him once because unfortunately EVERY time something goes wrong its instantly so I end up buying something because its here now and not in Arizona.

I've heard great things on them, all 800+ pages or whatever lol I've seen a few kicking around on eBay, never really pulled the trigger on it though
No its awful. It covers too many vehicles and years in not nearly enough detail. Its a pretty thin book and yet it supposedly covers Conti, TC, Mark VII and VIII circa 88 - 00. Utter crap.

The first thing I would do is seafoam the car, 2 or 3 times.
Then I would change the oil, plugs, wires, O2 sensors, pcv valve, tranny fluid and filter, air filter, clean the maf, flush the coolant and replace the thermostat, flush the power steering pump, replace the fule filter, and finish off by replacing the radiator cap!
After those things your car should run really good.

107,000 miles, i dont think i want to read a book on it, just want opinions of someone who knows these things. eventually when i get it up and running rpoperly i was to get a chip, exhaust, and maybe a intake, whatever would be beneficial, cheap and semi easy to do, any advise on that topic would also greatly be appreciated. again thanks for the help.

go to home depot and get a plumbing adapter from the rubber intake tube to the maf sensor, and an adapter plate from maf to 80mm conical, total cost 25 bucks and looks better than stock, i THINK it performs better but i cant really tell. also remove the air silencer and resonator on the intake tube as well as the silencer under the bumper in the passengers wheel well, do a search and you'll see what i'm talking about

also be careful when tighting the spark plugs the heads can strip easily if overtightened. before you flush your coolant make sure you can remove the crossover cap, its the small cap just in front of the alt with a 1/4" drive hole in it, if the 1/4" hole strips out then just use a pipe wrench to remove the cap, but look closely cuz the part you can grab is about the thickness of a quarter. then to repair the cap most (as did i) weld a nut to the top of the cap so all i need now is a 17mm wrench. but besides that its just normal maintenance like mentioned above. oh and mercV is the way to go!!!
