I was thinking of switching from amber bulbs to red ones on the rear. So far I have found these that I like (don't want a regular red bulb). Any thoughts?

While I'm thinking of it, do you know a good place to buy bulbs for the front turn signals. I want some that are blue or silver when unlit, and amber when lit. Like these, but I don't think these are the correct bulbs.

Last question: am I correct that I need 3457 for the front turn signals and 3156 for the rear?

clear ones and red ones can get you a ticket depending on where you live, you can get silver painted bulbs that shine a bright amber, or you can get some of those mirrored turn signals from PIAA check out cardomain.com/shop they have pretty good selection of bulbs I got some Eurolite interior bulbs there they are really sweet I replaced my interior bulbs with them and now they shine a ghostly white it's really sweet and light on the eyes check those out as well ;)

now since you know the guidelines I have a question for you. On my 97 Conti I have I guess you called them turning lights? They aren't my turn signals but they are a white light on the side of the car/side corner/headlight they don't flash at all now I have been curious about the legality of replacing those bulbs with PIAA Xenon-White bulbs but the bulbs are blue but emit a bright white light. Would it be legal aslong as they don't flash? or would the blue bulbs totally outlaw them for me

as long as they dont flash *and there is some kind of yellow reflector or light* then your ok I dont know what kind it is but there is a mercury they the hole front is lights *between the headlights* they are like a turn signal bulb just dont flash

The fronts will be amber and the rears will be red. I just dont want the bulbs to be those colors when they are NOT lit.

Silverstars by Sylvania #3157A/4157A ST are what I just bought to install once I install my clear corners. They have a nice blueish look to them when not lit.
