What tires should I buy?

I just bought a set of very nice original 16" chrome wheels, ($200.00)
now I need tires.

What tires would u recommend for the smoothest ride.
Also should I stay with stock size?

I put 245/50/16's on my car and have for many years.
Its a slightly wider tire {with no interference)
it's has a slightly shorter sideway {better handling)

I run the Cooper Zeon ZPT's from discount tire..they are a good wearing tire with great traction and I get roughly 50K out of a rear set and 60ishK out of the fronts.

What he said is good for handling.

But for a smoother ride, yes, stick to stock size. Look at a set of Goodyear Assurance ComforTreads.

I have to say these tires ride alot smoother than the stock size.

Granted they have a smaller sidewall, but the larger tire does a better job of absorbing impacts and transmits less to the rim.

on my first gen I always ran these tires
I just got this second gen, and it had stock tires on it.
I replaced them about 2 weeks ago with the 245/50-16s and the handling improved and the ride quality wasn't affected.

it's smooth as silk from 0-100

I ran Yokohama A008R's on my SVO mustang..
They were FABULMOUS TIRES!

I just bought Goodyear Assurance TripleTred 225/55/17s. TireRack gives them outstanding reviews.

Different tire sizes are different sizes. One manufacturers 245/50/16 is different than another.

I would decide what tire you want ( i have a set of Toyo's that are incredible) and see if it's overall size meets what the factory tire was. That way it fills up the wheel well properly.

Or just get a fatter and fatter tire.

Yokohama AVS Sports or cheap Sumitimo HTR Z II's... for performance street driving. For the track, MT drag radials.
