Can the rear subs be removed without removing the back seat? I have a bad speaker and read where you need to remove the seat to get the cover off. I got a new speaker coming from ford for $32.00 Thanks

I think it might matter, what year is it?

I recently did this on my 04'. You will need to remove the rear deck lower cover (the one in the trunk) to disconnect them from the amp.

Then fold down your rear seats. Before you try gorilla ripping it outta there like this guy you will need to fold down the small sides of the seats as well. If you look towards the top of these small seat ends you see a little cut out. In there is a latch. I used a small screwdriver to weasel in there to press them in the direction they will go. They should move easily, someone broke one of mine but it was still moveable.

Once that is done, remove the big ol' push clips and seat belt cover off the rear deck cover. With a little effort and finesse, pull the rear deck cover straight forward. You may have to press up on the center for clearance. Once this is out it should be self explanatory. I believe the bolts for mine were 6mm or 7mm. Don't be scared if one of those buggers is missing a grille too. For some reason one of mine had one, the other did not.

Possibly different from an '02. Do your seats fold down? When I was looking how to take mine out I think I came across something saying the entire rear rack that the subs and amp are one unbolts and comes out from the trunk???? If you take it out it's a heavy somebeach from what I read. Either that or I read all bullsnag.

Yes seats fold down. I went out and looked and I was able to unlatch the sides looks pretty simple from there on. Will replace as soon as speaker gets here Thanks again

you will also need to remove the C pillars for the rear deck lid to come out.

also the seat sides, do not fold down like the rest of the seat does, there is a latch at the top as mentioned, but the bottom is held in be a small bolt.
