I was just owndering if anyone knows or has a pic of where this is located, apparently I need to replace mine. Could I be talking about the rear diff ring and pinion seal, or am I totally off?

Any help would be appreciated...

Also, does anyone have a copy of the repair CD/DVD they could sell me?

Thanks

Dave

The pinion seal is the seal that is installed on the front of the pumpkin where the drive shaft flange is attached to the pinon gear. The flange has to be removed, the old seal removed, a new seal installed, and the flange re-installed. This is a job for an experienced tech. It is not a DIY job. Although the nut and bolt work are not difficult, getting the preload set with the pinion nut is critical. If it's not right, you will ruin the ring and pinion. It takes experience to get this right without completely disassembling the diff. Then, while everything is apart, you need to determine why the seal failed. Does the flange need a speedy sleeve? Are the pinion bearings going south? Lots of things to be done here to do it right.
