My rear passenger side turn signal is out. In the trunk I can see where it is. There's a rubber boot holding it into the sealed housing. I'm nervous to just yank the rubber boot. Any tips? I know this is elementary, but I dont want to force anything and break it.

What year?

I am pretty sure the assembly has to come out. That "rubber boot" is actually a seal for the cable. If you pull it nothing much will happen.

On Gen 1 I think there are tree nuts to remove. They have a large built-in washer with rubber. One is forward, two at the back. Once these three are out pull the assembly out and replace lamp(s) as needed. Once is a side marker, other is the one you need to do.

Once you do this once it a walk in the park for the rest of them. The front side-markers come out in a similar manner expect there is an exterior screw that comes out also.

Sorry. '96. that plastic houseing thing I take off? There's bolts holding it on along with some foam sealant.

you have to take the three 11 millimeter nuts off that are inside the trunk to access the light bulbs, you cant pull the rubber boot out, all you will end up with then is a pulled out rubber boot and still no access to the bulbs. the blubs twist into the back of the tail light housing, unbolt it, then you can change bulbs.

Easy as pie... sorta. When I was trying to get the bulb out of the socket the light went back on. So I buttoned it back up and now its off again, lol. I guess I'll take it out and try a new one. The bulb just pulls straight out, right? It was in there pretty good when I was pulling at it. Looks like theres an orange plastic piece connected to it. Did notice a little corrosion, but there's no water spots or condensation inside the lens.
