I am looking at putting 4.10's and trac-lok in the 98lsc. But heres my question, does anyone know of a place where i could get all of it in one package???? (ring and pinion, trac-lok, speedo gear, and rebuild kit)

SuperCoupePerformance it all adds up to like 1000. but i dont know if i could get it cheaper. Also, whenever i get the rebuild kit, do i get the one FOR trac-lok or not ? referring to the SCP website options.

Thanks Guys!

dont buy ford. Tracloc cost 520 bucks alone.... my eaton locker cost 489. which do you think will hold up better? the clutched posi or the preloaded locker? I was pricing them out for both the Mark and the LS, and hands down aftermarket win! Stronger more reliable and cheaper. The only downside is..... come to think of it there is none!

Thats VERY odd.

Not 30 minutes ago I put a BRAND new Ford trak-loc on my Visa for 215 Bucks.

How did that happen?

call the dealership and make sure you're getting the clutches and rest of the part that makes actually work not just a bare carrier.

Thats the same price the ford/linccoln place quoted me.... then if I wanted the clutches and everything it came to over 500 bucks. 5 or 6 places said about the same price 500-550 for the complete set up. and that doesnt include ring and pinion

either way 98, best of luck on the hunt. Id go aftermarket all the way... esp if you plan on making any decent increases in power (100+ over stock)

That may be,

Was this dealership a "ford Racing performance parts" dealership? If not you got the price for EVERYTHING right out of the book. It pays to know what your looking for.

some, not all... I called most places inside of a 50 mile radius

either way, my locker gets here soon and it doesnt matter much to me. Glad you found it cheaper, and I genuinley hope I'm wrong.

Thats good,

I called a place over 800 miles away............

;)

98CobraStarLSC,

I am inclined to reccomend Max because of his history with this Forum, the LVC discount, and because he is a helluva guy. The ford trak-lok will be fine for just about anything you can throw at it (short of a 750 HP monster.)

Everyone I know is running a ford trak-lok, with no issues even at 450+ hp at the wheels. Spend the money if you want, but I can think of other uses for the extra 200-300 Bucks.

Pissing contest = OVER.

Mike

i didnt know there was a pissing contest. I agree that trac loc will hold the power..... its the wearing down I dislike. I guess just like anything else in the motorsports world its all about your preference

NHLS
There is also a M-4204-F318 for the 31 spline axle if you were worried about any power you have
M-4204-F288 trac-loc $215.00 (MSRP)retail and $192.00 LVC
M-4204-F318 trac-loc $299.00 retail and $250.80 LVC
M-4204-A28 Auburn $485.00 retail and $430.80 LVC
All are complete with clutchs etc...no brgs.
all day every day LVC pricing

Max

$500 for a tac lok? Run away.

The Eaton def is a stronger unit but IMHO not worth the money unless it's a track car or your over 500HP. The trac lok is strong enough and easy to rebuild

couldnt agree more

sorta agree..... I dont see the point of rebuilding something when I can just install one that wont need it. And I'd probably run a detroit if it were a strictly drag car.... the auburn and eaton lockers are a little more street friendly. They all can take the power and abuse... its all preference though
