Just picked up a 95 mark viii with blown front bags (replaced with the coils from my 96 tbird) now i was going to swap the rear springs to the mark also, but found out i have a broken spring.. Bought new springs and cant find insulators anywhere. My rear air ride does work just that the passenger side lifts a lot higher than the driver side (driver side lifts a lot slower) but holds air. Wondering if theres a way to vent just one side so i can even it out, its the only thing stopping me from receiving a safety on the car and im currently broke, or anyone know what part could possibly be wrong? I figured the bag may have a leak but its holding air okay

The rear bags are controlled by the same hieght sensor.. So i'd say no..See if anyone with more knowledge with air chimes in.

As for the rear upper spring perches, you can make your own or have them made. There was a diagram on the specs of the cutout but I can't find it atm.

Yeah just finished reading spring perches could be a center cap with a bolt through it for example, figured there was no way to vent 1 side and not the other but id like to know what part it could possibly be thats not working properly (assuming its not the air bag) and get that rather than throw on the new springs at this point in time

Now finally someone comes busting in here with a half way decent question. Casper, if you need to pass a safety inspection and want to get that out of the way.... To even it out, you can go to the rear air bag that's highest. Now, at the top side of the bag, you'll see a wiring harness and a plug going into it. You can use speaker wire or something of the like and connect it to a 12 volt source. Unplug that wiring harness. Take your 12 volt source using two wires, one positive and one negative. Stick the wires up into the bag solenoid and it will vent out some air.

It will scare the sh!t out of you but don't worry. Have the car jacked up and air ride turned off. Do this until you are level. Leave the air ride off and go pass your safety inspection and then worry about that little problem later. Use a measuring tape until it measures the same on both sides.

Whatever you do please don't do the centercap perch. I forget who did it but that's retarded. Iirc you just get a 1/8" steel sheet, cut it xx"s by xx"s, fold the corners, drill a hole in the center and stick a bolt/nut through it.

Going to go try this right now... I believe I actually have speaker wire around for once.. Now to find a 12 volt source, also have 5 batteries sitting in my garage, one may be able to take a charge.. Thanks NoLimit, Any idea what part actually would cause this particular problem? the driver side rear bag is lifting at about 1/4 of the speed of pass side

Maybe a pinched air line which could be right behind the upper portion part of the back seat. Air lines run behind there. The solenoid on the bag might be stopped up or just not taking air in like it should.

Ok somehow or another i managed to get both rear bags to appears to be max height, venting them by moving the car and turning it off and closing the door didnt change anything, both are sitting all the way up. Any idea how to lower them evenly? Original problem was left side filling a lot slower than right side.

Go to the height sensor (WITH THE AIR RIDE OFF) and loosen the sensor and push it up about a 1/2 inch. Tighten sensor, then drop it back down. Turn air ride back on, crank car, get in and set down and shut the door. there are sensors in the seats that know if you're in there or not. Pull forward or go drive down the road and come back to your spot. Shut the car off, get out and shut the door. If it doesn't vent, I would say your vent solenoid is stuck closed.

It's also possible that some of the wiring was messed with when the coils were put in on the front. Let us know if you even hear the compressor coming on.

The rear bags should vent if you directly put a 12 volt source right to the 2 pins. It's how you get the bags out if you were going to remove them. Right now, you would never be able to get one of those bags out if they're pumped all the way up. Make sure everything is connected and the air ride is turned on before to roll it down the road. The rear doesn't always vent "right then" and sometimes it does. The air ride is active for about 45 min to an hour after the car is shut off. It might vent within 2 seconds or it could be 20 min

Your rear is uneven because your rear bags are also leaking.
One is leaking at a faster rate then the other one, the system is trying to balance it out.
To go with the t-bird springs you are going to have to make spring perches.

Spend some time with the search engine, you will find the info you need.
Or PM the Kid maybe.... if your nice he will fab up a set for a small fee.

hell a 9 volt will work to open the solenoid the thing is if the vent at the compressor is shut the air will have nowhere to go. id pull the line out of the solenoid then vent it

Bags havent dropped at all overnight, its even now (just at max height), before the left side was raising at a quarter of the speed of the right side

Ok, vent them as suggested by Nolimt/chicken.

After you happy with height, turn your air ride switch off.

See how long they hold air.

chicken mentioned something that I completely forgot to mention. The air line also needs to be removed to the bag you want to vent. Take your time with that and don't break the line lock. I think you push in on that as you pull the line out. Then use your 12 volt source to vent that bag. Your vent solenoid is stuck closed on your compressor.

Did this and it worked except I ended up letting a lil too much air out of 1 side.. (oops) oh well, pump it back up tomorrow and even it out.

Thanks NoLimit and Chicken, very helpful.

Glad it worked out for you and sorry about leaving out "disconnecting the air line" because I completely forgot about that. At least now you know what's going on and what you have to do to pass inspection.
