I took my stockers out and put in higher end pioneer rev series 6.5's out of my marquis and put them in the mark while i was replacing my pass side door handle. I have to still get the handle cuase i was unable to try and fix mine. But i did test it out w/o the stock tweeter and i'd have to say that it sounded better before. Hard to tell w/o the tweet though as all i have to compare it to is the drivers side.

I'm no rookie when it comes to stereo's, i've made them big and small. Various complex systems so it's not installer error. The door is deadened on the outer shell and parts of the inner.

Also, is there any way to get around the amp's internal low pass filter for the mids?

New speakers good, a new amp BEST! :)

I hear ya. But i want to keep this install simple as its got all the right components. ok jbl system with a cd player. All the other cars i've bought didnt have a cd so i went the whole nine yards. All i want to do is replace the fronts and install my modded mtx 1501 that puts out around 2000rms @ .67ohm's, connected to my 3 12" ported type r's. I like simplicity and this is the first car i've had a chance to do it with. Once i put in the subs in i'll have a better idea if i should get a 4ch. To bad i just sold my 800x4 fosgate. That thing was killer. But no job = sell all your sh!t you don't want to sell.

The amp is the first thing I would mess with...

sbcaprice305... your car has a factory in dash cd player right?

How do you guys usually run your power for the amp? Where exactly through the firewall is the best place to run it?

I run the power cord through the same location as the main engine harness. There may be better spots, but it worked for me. Very hard to get it through there.

Then on the inside you pull back the rocker cover, the carpet and back seat to get to this....

There are plastic channel guides on each side of the car. I use one side for power, the other for audio and data.

With the back seat out you see another guide and an opening along the back to run the cables through.
