Hey All,
I was just wondering. I went to the car fax free report page and it came back as a 96 LSC Diamond Anniversary edition. I have seen the Diamond Anniversary before and mine isn't one But my VIN# I put in came back with that as my car. Am I missing something here? Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this or has anyone had this same thing happen to them?

Thanks for any comments,

Greg

Anyone I just find it odd and would like to know. I understand the 93,94 and 95 say LSC when they are not. But Mine says LSC diamond. It just really tweaks my interest.

Anyone!!

All of it sounds wrong. 93-96 none should show a LSC in the VIN, the LSC was a late 95&96 option and I was told not readable in the VIN. 97-98 LSCs were identified in the VIN. Based on the fact that early LSCs weren't in the VIN I would think the diamond anniversary wouldn't either. Thats what I was told and always believed to be true.

I understand that LSC was only late 95 and 96 models. But, I have read here where the cars titles (93-94) say LSC on them. I swear I have read where people say this. Even though we all know its not right. That's what I have read. A guy says that his title says LSC on it and he's asking the board (us) to explain. I can't explain why the car fax says this about my car. It is a LSC. But it isn't a Diamond.

So, How would it (CarFax) come up with this info???

I know its strange. Hence the question.

Greg

Yeah they did Hottie, there are several tech and spec articles, but generally the whole Diamond Anniversary Edition got screwed up in 1996. Then they all became Diamond Anniversary Editions, then they get confused with the collectors edition. There are more articles google around ')

Here is a url, should either clear things up, or mess them up more, but once you got thru you will be able to tell the difference between a REAL Diamond, A year Diamond, an LSC and the stock ;)

MsM8tress,

Thank you for the input. I am aware what the Stock and LSC are and I know what the real diamond is. But I truly never heard there was a screw up (if that is what it would be called) in 96 with the diamond name placed on none diamond cars. This is new to me. Thanks again and I will follow your lead. If there is anything else that is odd like this I would love to know. I have been on here a long time (in the shadows reading for more than a few years) and this one is all new to me.

Thanks,

Greg

My 95 Base's title did say LSC and had a hard time convincing the insurance company that it was not. I had to get the Lincoln (Ford) Regional Zone Manager and the Insurance Adjuster to meet and look over the car to finally get the $200 a year break on insurance). This being in 1996. I have not heard of the Diamonds being erroniously reported.

Thank you for confirming my points.

That the 93 and 94 and 95 say LSC on the title. When in actuality the are not LSC's. With the exception of the true LSC (duals, perforated, HID's and 3.27 gears) I meant to write point not points. Real sorry Ma'am.

So, What you're saying is every 96 has Diamond on the title? That is all I was trying to find out. I always thought it was just the sellers on Ebay trying to con the potential buyer that he was getting something special. I didn't realize that all 96's have Diamond written on the title. Sorry for asking questions.

and why are you giving this guy crap? He wasn't saying anything bad. I'm sure, like me he wasn't aware either.

K96LSC, MsM8tress wasn't giving anyone crap, she was just telling you what she found out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep.
Its easy to get mixed signals with her "passion" for this subject. At the last Ohio meet, I thought she was giving me the "stink eye" over this very same discussion. Turns out, she has a great interest in '96s and gets really enthusiastic over them! It helps to hear her "tone", as it clues you into Debi's obssesion for this issue.

K96LSC,

Hun, I was not giving Frat crap...Frat's a HOTTIE ;), I was "giving you crap", but I call it razzing ya. You wanted to know why they were all Diamonds, I gave you first hand experience and a url to verify it, when Frat verifed even further that they have the "LSC" tag confused also, you discounted my informatioin...oh and there is nothing wrong with the smell of burnt rubber
:burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

Now you want to really be confused, I've got a 96 LSC made in 95 and there are no LSC letters on the trunk lid....Mike tells me some were made that way in the beginning of the 96 LSC and base introduction in 95. I am positive mine is LSC, it has all the "right stuff", and more ;)

Now the last thing I want to do is put you off, if you have been reading the threads and the info on the site, you know that is not my style.

Pepps and Torq are right however, when it comes to MarkVIII's, I love em, but I'm still learning too!

Can we kiss and make up :Beer

MsM8tress,

OXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX!!!!!!!!!!!.......

Truly I apoligize. My bad.

If My thread confused me, I can only imagine how it confused others. All I was trying to figure out was if all 96's said Diamond on the title. I have read many of your older post and really didn't question you. When I referenced Frat-man-du all I was doing was confirming my earlier point about the LSC on earlier base models titles. I truly wasn't questioning you at all. I knew you were giving me sound info. I just couldn't put it together and for that I apologize.

I remember seeing the pic's of a meet I believe was in Chicago with a number of beautiful people in it and you were one of them. I do truly appreciate your experience and knowledge of this wonderful car. I have been reading markorg.com sense 99 and fortunately fond this site around 02. It has been such a tool for me over the years. (I kinda feel like a tool now myself)

There has been some misunderstanding here and for that I'm regretful. Torque, Pepper & Frat, thanks for helping clear this all up.

your 96 LSC with no badgeing is just the info that puts me in a happy place. NEW info is always a good feeling to have. There is so much info here its difficult to keep everything in order. My time here (earth) is limited and I hope I get the pleasure of meeting some of you if not all of you at a meet this summer.

Thanks again and I look forward to corresponding with YA' ALL in the future.

MsM8tress,
XXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOO

Torque,Pepper and Frat,
No X's & O's for you. But thanks for caring enough to take the time to post and help clear this misunderstanding up.

well...........OK
XO for you guys too.

My 2 cents if it's worth anything. 93-94 are LSC.. They are listed as LSC it's the only Mark VIII's made those years. Got this from MonsterMark (a former Lincoln Salesman).

Also, When I purchased my 95 it was listed as an LSC. It's not an LSC. If you run a carfax it will say LSC after any Lincoln Mark VIII. All of mine said that. My 93, 94, and 95.

Personal opinion I don't care... LSC, Diamond Edition, as long as they are a Mark VIII got to love 'em.

My carfax for my 94 state on body style : as coupe .... no were does it say the word LSC.
It's does say it has had 7 owners and it was a RENTAL car first arrgg...

MsM8 love that fact when you are yelling at someone you still call them 'babe' and 'sweetie'

No, no Hottie! I only yell when I'm having a good time!

My 94 title just says sport coup....that was my first, I miss her 9 years..
My white 96 says LSC Diamond Edition, nice engine, but...no head turnin'*
My black 96 LSC only....but my boy breaks necks ;)

I was sportingly relaying that the various sellers, title agencies &, dealerships let the reporting credentials get askew...everyone knows a real Diamond, a real Collectors Edition, LSC and a base MarkVIII.

Our discussions are how we learn more about them, not ment to be arguments hun! Shoot, let me see that HOTTIE at the meet, I'll be the first two walk up and give him a hug! ;)

SMOOCHS!!
MsM8

*however his parts are now lovingly distributed thoughtout LVC

Awwwhhhhh Gregg, SMOOOOCCCCHEEESSS!!! Hun, no harm ment at all here, that long post you made up there is too sweet, I' sorry, the outcome was not what I intended babe.

So you are coming to the meet!!! Excellent Hun! I can't wait to meet you!

Now, I've been trying to call you a Hottie since you started this thread....but have you posted a pic to the Guy Guys thread and been Hottified???? You really need to do that ya know ;)

We're all good, well lol, with issues! hehe but damn good ;)

SMOOCHES HOTTIE!!

Really hmmm how resent was your carfax? Maybe they corrected their error. I remember when I was purchasing my car off Autotrader that it was an LSC. Then when I ran the carfax it said it was an LSC. Then I was slammed buy an LSC god that I did not know Jack Kennedy and my car was not an LSC. (I really didn't care as it was a Mark VIII and it was mine). But that's what happened last year around this time.
