Now today at idel i hear a rattle noise. and i was at a redlight and i revved it up and (white) smoke came out of the exhaust ....... i am wondering is my cat burnt up or is it an engine problem..... the noise sounds like it is from the cat... Please help

If you're getting white smoke you should stop driving the car. It doesn't sounds like an exhaust issue. Check the coolant for oil, and the oil for coolant.

If it sounds like it's coming from the cat, it could be shot. Smell the exhaust as the car is running. You can tell what's going on by taking a whiff or two. If it smells sweet, it's coolant, like eggs it's the cat, etc. etc.
