Radio Switch

So this seems a bit odd, but I decided awhile ago that I wanted to go from an aftermarket radio back to a factory radio, recently I found one and I started to remove the aftermarket radio and replace with the factory radio, the problem that I ran across was that the radio would turn on but with no sound, is there anything that I should check for? I also was wondering since the car came with a AM/FM CD radio, would AM/FM Cassette radio make a huge difference?

is it the JBL system?
dead amp?

yeah its a JBL system, and my amp works fine, the amp worked with my aftermarket I had in the car

the aftermarket head unit was wired into the factory JBL amp then?
dead stock radio? that happens as well.

hmm.. if it was a dead stock radio wouldnt there be almost like a static sound from the speakers?

its possible, but not necessarily.

i've lost amps and radios, and sometimes it was popping and static, and other times it just went quiet.
