Radio Screen

hey whats up guys, on my 03 my black screen thats on the radio, you know that displays the time, radio station etc is cracked. Ive been trying to find anther one to fix it but ive been told I just have to buy the whole radio assembly and take out the face plate and pop the screen out, but im not wanting to spend alot of money to buy one off ebay or something. I found a 2000 ls in the junk yard and I just need to know if that screen on the gen 1's radio is the exact size of the gen 2 radio.

Im not sure about size, but you could find a used stock headunit for about 20$ which would save you so much work, frustration, cussing, and hassle lol.

well thats what my orignal plan was, the reason why I need it and cant just switch them out is because my center pieces are all custom painted. but when I tryed on email to just find new radio unit for it, all of them were pretty expensive. I dont even care if its in crappy shape or don't even work because all im wanting is the screen anyways you know. so wheres a place I can get it

Hm, I dont know anywhere besides a junkyard, and good luck with that, cus none of them around here even have LS'es or anything past like 1998 lol

You could go aftermarket....

yea the junk yard next to me only has 1 an its a 2000 lol but im going to prolly check that out. i would like to go aftermarket some day with the avic but just dont hae the funds rght now an beens i just got them custom painted an matched exactly to my outside ceramic pearl then im not looking to have to change it an get another piece painted to match you know. on a diff note today I was in my aunts 04 eddie baurer edition explorer an she had the exact same radio an climate control my gen 2 has so I think as long as I can find anything with the same factory radio setup from ford. then i can just get the screen from that
